The Boston Red Sox have acquired relief pitcher Brad Ziegler from the Arizona Diamondbacks in exchange for two minor league prospects, ESPN’s Scott Lauber reports.

The Red Sox trade for Ziegler won’t move the needle much, but it’s a cheap enough move to bolster a struggling bullpen. Pitching has been nothing short of a head ache for Boston, despite their efforts last off-season.
“It definitely made me forget that I got up at 4 a.m., that’s for sure”, he said.
“Having a year of pitching here now, being familiar with everything [I’ve been] a lot more comfortable”, Porcello said. “At the same time I appreciate if they felt like it was something they needed do right away and help out right now then I’m more than happy to a part of it”.
In the fourth, the Sox got their one big hit of the game from Xander Bogaerts.
Almonte has the plus of being just 20 years old, but hasn’t been spectacular in 2016.
Rays: They’re still planning that CF Kevin Kiermaier (broken left hand) will return Friday.
Make no mistake: Hill will have to contribute if the Red Sox are going to make the playoffs.
First baseman Hanley Ramirez (bruised left shin), outfielder Brock Holt (sprained left ankle) and reliever Junichi Tazawa (shoulder tightness) missed yesterday’s game.

“It’s the first time I’ve been on the DL in my career, so it’s obviously frustrating”, said Kimbrel, who has a 3.55 ERA and 17 saves in 34 appearances.
