The Mini-NES Won’t Get Games Beyond The Ones That Were Announced

Nintendo says that the NES Classic Edition will be available to purchase starting November 11. It will also contain 30 familiar classic games. Of course, players will be able to buy a second NES Classic Controller, which will be sold separately at a suggested retail price of $9.99.

“The console is a standalone device, so it can not connect to the internet or any external storage devices”, the spokesperson said. Instead, it’s basically an emulator with 30 games preloaded and ready to play, including all three of the classic Super Mario Bros, The Legend of Zelda, Mega Man 2 (Nintendo understands its classic series well), and, crucially, Tecmo Bowl.

The game company decides to bring back the classic game console that comes in the form of Mini-NES. “The game lineup was chosen to provide a diverse mix of popular and recognizable NES games that appeal to a wide variety of players”. Nintendo is re-releasing a mini version of the console with HDMI support and 30 games that come as part of the package. Power is via a USB cable (AC adapter not supplied). The game company warns United Kingdom buyers that the AC adapter will be available, but the USB cable to connect it will not be included in the packaging. They’re the gaming titles that made Nintendo what it is, especially with their iconic NES box that was integral to so many childhood memories. “Both can be plugged directly into the console; however, when using two controllers, one of them must be the NES Classic Controller”.

Nintendo Co., flush from the success of its new Pokemon Go mobile game, will soon be releasing a smaller version of its original Nintendo Entertainment System, hoping to draw nostalgic gamers back to the worlds of Donkey Kong and Pac-Man while introducing younger generations to old favorites.
