Joe Perry Hospitalized but ‘Stable’ After Staggering Offstage

Joe Perry is in recovery, listed in stable condition, after he collapsed during a performance on Sunday (July 10, 2016) at Coney Island with his band the Hollywood Vampires.

Perry, 65, was performing on New York’s Coney Island Boardwalk with his band the Hollywood Vampires.

Messages on Hollywood Vampires’ and Aerosmith’s websites say, “Joe Perry is stable and resting”.

In this May 25, 2013 photo, Joe Perry performs with Aerosmith in Singapore during the inaugural Social Star Awards concert. ABC News reported that he was taken to hospital to be checked over before being transferred to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital.

Sources tell USA news show Entertainment Tonight Perry is still under doctors’ care, and as a result, Cooper and Depp have made a decision to cancel a scheduled appearance on America’s Late Show With Stephen Colbert on Monday. No further information was available about Perry’s condition, the spokesperson said.

After the show, Alice Cooper tweeted Perry was “stable” and with his family.

Perry sat down and struggled to play before he had to be treated by medics during the Hollywood Vampires’s first song at the Ford Amphitheater at Coney Island.

Hollywood Vampires continued performing after Perry collapsed backstage.

Hollywood Vampires were formed previous year, with Perry joining Cooper and Depp in a tribute to 1970s rock “n” roll. “Thanks to everyone asking about our brother @JoePerry”, he tweeted on Sunday evening.

Perry has also released albums as a solo musician and with his other band, the Joe Perry Project.
