Emmy Nominations Including Best Supporting Actor For Kit Harington

O.J. Simpson: “American Crime Story”, a TV mini-series exploring racial tensions that strained the criminal justice system 20 years before Black Lives Matter, dominated the Primetime Emmy nominations on Thursday along with HBO’s medieval fantasy “Game of Thrones”.

Iconic late-night franchise “Saturday Night Live” received a nomination for Outstanding Variety Sketch Series and led NBC’s tally with 17 nominations, more than doubling last year’s eight nominations.

If there’s anything better than snagging an Emmy nomination for one show, it’s landing a second (or even a third) for yet another performance.

Hiddleston is nominated for his role in the BBC’s The Night Manager.

Stars Kit Harington and Maisie Williams both broke into the race this year, earning their first nominations in the Supporting Actor and Actress categories, respectively.

Benedict Cumberbatch is also up for a best actor in a limited series and as well as two actors in the OJ Simpson show. At the previous Emmys, Game of Thrones took 12 awards in all, setting a new record. They joined fellow cast members Peter Dinklage, Lena Headey and Emilia Clarke, who are repeat nominees – Dinklage previously won the Supporting Actor category in 2015 and 2011. It will be hosted by talk show veteran Jimmy Kimmel.
