Sister of batboy throws first pitch in remembrance

The young batboy was knocked unconscious by the blow to the back of his head from a batter warming up during a game on Saturday in, bringing play to a halt as emergency medical personnel rushed onto the field, the Liberal Bee Jays baseball team said.

Carlile’s team, the Liberal Bee Jays, indicated on Twitter Wednesday there were problems with a GoFundMe page for his family.

Two heart-shaped signs with Kaiser’s initials “KC” were placed on the backstop near both dugouts as well as on the scoreboard.

“He was our teammate”, added pitcher Kadon Simmons. “He was the spark plug, like they say, for the team”, said Carlile, who wants his son remembered for how the boy lived rather than how he died.
