Summer scorcher: Temps to hit mid-90s on Friday
Now it’s beginning to feel a lot like summer in CT as we’re looking at a very, very hot and humid weekend.

An “Air Quality Alert” is in effect from 11 a.m.to 11 p.m. Friday for all of southern CT because of the hot and humid conditions.
“This is the warmest southern New England has been this year, ” wrote forecasters, who are also urging people with outdoor activities planned for Friday afternoon to remain hydrated or consider canceling them.
Eastern Kiowa, Prowers and Baca Counties have the greatest potential to be impacted by storms Friday afternoon as high pressure shifts east into Colorado. Temperatures will be a tad lower on Sunday, but it will still be warm. Temperatures will drop to the mid 60s by daybreak. The day will begin with a mix of sun and clouds.
Skies will probably average partly sunny for Friday, with a stiff breeze up to 20 miles per hour keeping the hot air stirred around. Highs for Saturday are expected to reach 88 to 95 degrees, with the cool spots in NW NJ and along the coast. Highs will only get to the upper 70s. But even as the mercury rises, humidity levels stay low. A few thunderstorms are possible by late in the day in advance of an approaching cold front, but showers and storms could hold off until Monday night. The air will be quite humid, but abundant cloud cover should limit daytime highs to 80-85 degrees.

A drying trend will take us into the middle of next week with sunshine and highs in the 80s to near 90 by Thursday. The middle of next week could feature slightly below normal temperatures in the lower 80s with low humidity.
