“We are creating this unique Jeep Wrangler 75th Salute concept vehicle in celebration of the brand’s legendary history, and to demonstrate that 75 years later, today’s iconic Jeep Wrangler is instantly recognizable and clearly connected to the original Willys MB”, said Mike Manley, head of the Jeep brand for Fiat Chrysler.
Jeep has been celebrating 75 years of production all year introducing us its special-edition USA lineup earlier this year, and now our friends across the pond will be able to join the celebration in their own 75th anniversary Jeep Wrangler. The Sahara version now gets 18-inch polished satin alloy wheels, front side airbags, deep-tint sunscreen glass and 3.73 rear axle ratio.
The current Wrangler line-up has seen its existing 2.8-l diesel engine updated to meet Euro 6 emission standards, while its different variants have each received additional enhancements.
Wrangler Sahara, Overland and Rubicon models have been given new kit, including front side airbags, deep-tint sunscreen glass, 18-inch Rubicon satin alloy wheels, Mopar slush mats and black, heated leather seats. Based on the Overland version, it comes with several key improvements, including unique exterior styling and a part-leather interior.
The result is called Jeep Wrangler 75th Salute concept, and it will be assembled in Toledo, Ohio.
Prices for the birthday models start at £34,765 for the 2-door 2.8 CRD Auto rising to £36,435 for the four-door 3.6 V6 Auto. In the cabin you’ll find “1941” embossed leather heated seats in a choice of black or saddle brown and tangerine, bronze accents on the air vents and grab handles, an Alpine premium sound system, deep tinted sunscreen glass, and satellite navigation.
