“We don’t have to train people about augmented reality thanks to Pokemon Go”, he said, adding that that “techtainment” could be the next big trend at more of his company’s theme parks as well as rivals like Disney and Six Flags.

And in case you haven’t noticed, the game is taking the country by storm.

“This is about the Nintendo universe”, said Tokuriki, who was looking forward to playing “Pokemon Go” with his fourth-grade and pre-school children.

The premise is simple: the insane number of Pokemon Go players roaming the streets falling into ponds, discovering corpses, and getting mugged can also be a significant source of foot traffic to a business. Children and adults who regularly engage in video game playing may have a more hard time engaging in natural conversation than individuals who spend time engaging in other activities do.

Of course, statistically speaking, gamers aren’t really alone. “There hasn’t been a geolocation social platform that can lure so many people all at once”. Even so, there’s still a sense that if you’re offline and not among friends, professing that you’re a diehard gamer can garner some awkward reactions.

Where does this leave Nintendo, which neither owns the rights to the characters nor developed the game nor makes it available for download?

In many respects, the games are like annuities, with people eagerly scooping up new releases in EA’s Federation Internationale de Football Association and Madden NFL sports franchises, Activision’s World of Warcraft and Call of Duty and Take-Two’s Grand Theft Auto. Others often view video games as a waste of time and money, or something childish that should be given up after a certain age.

While Nintendo and other bandwagon stocks have soared amid the “Pokemon Go” sensation, this so-called Pokenomics rally may prove as virtual as the monsters in the game.

So amid this predictable panic and backlash, it’s worth pointing out that Pokemon GO is actually doing wonderful things for the mental health of gamers.

The chances are, if you’re reading this, you’re now tearing your hair out with frustration at being unable to play Pokemon Go in the UK.

Another possibility is reportedly already in the works. We hope they give you fond memories of the last time Pokemon took over the world.
