Hot, Humid Weather On Tap For Friday

Heat and high humidity that will make it feel like it’s close to 100 degrees outside today has caused the National Weather Service to issue a heat advisory for much of New Jersey, including Morris County. Monday and Tuesday are forecast to reach 89 degrees.

The importance of maintaining awareness in the throes of extreme heat conditions is not lost on Curry County resident Osborne Padilla.

“The arid conditions will be with us for quite some time”, Albuquerque National Weather Service Forecaster Jennifer Palucki said.

Coastal Palm Beach County has a rain deficit for the month of 1.15 inches.

The advisory is in effect from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. with temperatures expected to be in the low to high 90 degrees Fahrenheit, the NWS said in a statement Friday. “The temperature for the Norfolk area looks like it’s going to be in the upper 80s”.

Baxter said the lack of overnight cooling is a function of easterly breezes blowing in warm air off the water.

For Sunday, the high will be in the low to mid-90s with a 30 percent chance of showers.

High pressure system remains over Florida, but an increase in tropical moist air may bring more widespread showers.
