Football player claims he was punched by Draymond Green

Green was booked and lodged in East Lansing Police Department jail and was released after posting bail ($200). Details started to trickle out that Green had slapped a taunting fan, who was later rumored to be Michigan State football player Jermaine Edmondson.

Fowler and Green were eating together at the East Lansing establishment.

“Friday, July 8th I went out to the bar Ricks and came across Draymond Green and two other males that were with him who followed everywhere he went”.

Michigan State Spartans cornerback Jermaine Edmondson, who was slapped by Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green is transferring after being granted a release from the program. Edmondson said he replied that he did not care and later said two of Green’s associates grabbed him and his girlfriend by their throats. Edmonson claimed that he was trying to smooth things over again when the situation got physical.

Edmondson told police his trouble with the Warriors star began at another bar the night before.

Green faces maximum penalties of a $500 fine and/or 90 days in jail.

A responding officer wrote that as he was being handcuffed and arrested Green said “some excited utterances, including that he was sorry for slapping the subject and wanted to speak with him to make things right”.

Edmondson told police he was hanging out with his girlfriend when Green bumped into him.

On Tuesday, Green himself said that he expects the incident to be “resolved really quickly”.

You can find the full police report below. In an interview posted on ESPN Tuesday, Green admitted that he can not put himself in “certain situations” being a public figure.

In 11 games a year ago, he finished with 24 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, three pass breakups and two fumble recoveries.

Messages seeking comment were left for Green, an NBA All-Star who was selected to play basketball for the U.S.at the Olympics next month. “It’s something that I’ll learn from and move on”.

Green’s schedule for the Olympic basketball team includes training sessions and exhibition games from July 18 through August 1.
