For months, Democrats Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders have locked horns on the campaign trail, argued during debates and expressed concerns over each other’s policies.

“He believes that states should have the right to lower the minimum wage or even abolish the concept of the minimum wage altogether”.

Standing onstage with Clinton on Tuesday in a state where he crushed the former USA secretary of state with a sweeping victory in the primary season, Sanders called Clinton “far and away the best candidate” to address the serious crisis facing the country. But his supporters have emerged as a powerful progressive force that Sanders spent weeks leveraging to the greatest benefit he could.

Voting for Ms. Clinton is still “hard to fathom” for many Sanders supporters, according to the New York Times.

“To everyone here and everyone across the country who poured your heart and soul into Senator Sanders’ campaign, thank you”, she said. After starting as a little-known underdog, he ended up winning 22 states, almost 1,900 delegates, and more than 40 percent of overall votes cast in the Democratic contest.

“The candidate who ran against special interests is endorsing the candidate who embodies special interests”, Miller said.

The intention of the rally was to unify the Democratic Party, but it was a tough sell for some of Sanders’ most ardent supporters.

Republican Donald Trump has been trying to draw Sanders supporters to his campaign. The newly formed partnership between Clinton and Sanders to upend the incendiary candidacy of Donald Trump is another sign that in politics, nothing is forever. “Sen. Sanders has brought people off the sidelines and into the political process”.

The pair campaigned in Portsmouth, New Hampshire on Tuesday morning.

Sanders announced his endorsement two weeks before the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia.
