Multiple media outlets report a student collapsed at Southern Guilford High School about 9:15 a.m. Thursday and died at a hospital.

The student has been identified as Allison Brown, 14, an incoming freshman at the school, according to the school system’s spokeswoman, Nora Murray.
The teen collapsed during the second day for tryouts for the team.
Brown was immediately rushed to the hospital. Brown was running with about 15 students when she collapsed. More than a dozen other students were at the school at the time, and one witnessed the collapse, GCS officials said. We are a community. “There’s already been a lot of support, already getting lots of positive texts and Emails from the community right now”, said Kraszeski. Athletic director Leigh Hebbard said the weather conditions were well within Guilford County Schools guidelines for warm weather practices.

There will be grief counselors available at Southern Guilford High School on Friday.
