“I am delighted that in her first speech as Prime Minister, Theresa May placed such a big emphasis on social justice and social mobility”.

Mrs May is the UK’s second female prime minister, after Margaret Thatcher. Philip Hammond replaced George Osborne as Chancellor of the Exchequer, Amber Rudd took over from Mrs May as Home Secretary and Boris Johnson was appointed Foreign Secretary. Michael Fallon remains in the role of defence secretary.

Mr Cameron was accompanied by wife Samantha and children Nancy, Elwen and Florence as he left 10 Downing Street for the last time as Prime Minister.

UK Prime Minister David Cameron’s “humming-gate” continues to fascinate the nation.

“She is strong, she is competent, she is more than able to provide the leadership that our country is going to need in the years ahead, and she will have my full support”, Cameron said shortly after Leadsom withdrew from the race. When it comes to taxes, we’ll prioritise not the wealthy, but you.

Four of the incidents were reported in the U.S. LONDON – Buckingham Palace said Queen Elizabeth II has accepted the resignation of David Cameron as British prime minister.

He championed for the United Kingdom to remain in the European Union and after the leave faction claimed victory said he believed he was not the person to take the United Kingdom through the next stage of its political development.

Cameron’s final words, which were greeted by a standing ovation from his party and many rival lawmakers, recalled a memorable 2005 taunt when he mocked then-Prime Minister Tony Blair with the words: “He was the future once”.

Jokes apart, Cameron sought to shore up his legacy as a reforming prime minister, highlighting his government’s efforts to stabilise the post-financial crisis economy and the passing of gay marriage laws.
