“He won’t have to walk this path alone”, Tomsula said.

Smith argued that his fans and friends will remain faithful to him.

No matter what ends up happening in the future, Smith has to figure out how to turn his life around. “People stumble”. The truth will come out. “I am simply sorry that he has to undergo this”. It’s time. I need to speak.

Smith does elaborate to a situation he “could have handled differently”. After bailing out, Smith apologized for how the situation “all played out” and denied the DUI allegations. Smith was apologetic as reporters asked him about what happened. All right? Thank you. Lt. Kurt Clarke said Smith then left the scene.

“We don’t talk about what we’re doing within negotiations”, Baalke said.

Upon returning to the area, officers contacted him and administered a sobriety test. He appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.

“He did not complete it satisfactorily”, Clarke said.

Police in Northern California have arrested and accused Smith of hit-and-run, drunken driving and vandalism. Charges were never filed.

The San Francisco 49ers’ offseason continues to go badly, as troubled linebacker Aldon Smith has had another run-in with the law. The weapons charges and one of the DUI charges were in connection to a 2012 party at Smith’s residence where he was stabbed. He was sentenced to three years probation, 235 hours of community service and 11 days in a sheriff’s work-crew program.

Even if he is not cut by the team, Smith is likely facing another suspension from the NFL because of his past conduct and latest arrest. Smith not only participated in those practices but looked in his former Pro Bowl form as a dominant pass rusher. Smith, who s steered clear of further off-field issues, restructured his $9.75 million contract this season, in a way he s earning it in increments as the season unfolds. He had 42 sacks in his first 43 games after the 49ers selected him with their 2011 first-round draft pick. His impact dropped off considerably once he returned to field, as he registered just 15 combined tackles and two sacks in seven games. He is beginning the process of working his way through the court system, but I have to think he is looking at a suspension of a year or more.

“The other thing I would like to say: I understand the platform we are on”. “I’m not going to sit here and give you some, whatever, insane answer”. Own it, fix it, and let s go.

“Aldon’s like any young player”, Baalke said at training camp on Tuesday.

“He’s in his contract year”, Baalke said, via ESPN.com. He’s in his contract year. He’s a guy that’s had a lot of production here, another guy that’s a very good teammate.
