Talking to Jon Stewart Wednesday night (July 30) on Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show”, Cruise somewhat off-handedly remarked that the yet-untitled sequel could begin shooting by mid 2016. “We’ll probably start shooting it next summer”.

If all goes to plan that could mean the next Mission: Impossible film will hit cinemas quite soon – at least compared to the lengthy breaks the franchise’s fans have had to endure in the past.
Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation starts off on another level. Each subsequent film was helmed by a new director who added his own personal brand: John Woo’s liberal use of slow-motion cinematography, J.J. Abrams’s labyrinthine blend of flashbacks and double-crossing, Brad Bird’s light touch with action that turned climbing the Burj Khalifa into a high-wire comedy act. In the movie, Ethan Hunt (Cruise) is on the hunt for The Syndicate, an ultra secret crime ring that most people don’t think exists. Cruise donned the suit in the first “Mission: Impossible” installment in 1996. The film is distributed by Paramount Pictures India and is set to be released in India on August 7th by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures.

“Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation” is rated PG-13 for sequences of action and violence and brief partial nudity. At this time, Tom Cruise is working with film director Doug Liman on the drug thriller Mena, which is due in 2017.
