The GOP delegate rebellion against Donald Trump is dead, Republican Party Chairman Reince Priebus declared on Friday, looking ahead to a unified national convention next week amid signs that both Trump and the broader party are moderating their message with an eye toward November. At press time, Trump has yet to address the apparent change in programming.

Bush, once seen as the front-runner for the Republican presidential nomination, remains one of the most prominent anti-Trump holdouts in the GOP. Trump kicked off his campaign announcement by labeling illegal immigrants from Mexico as “rapists” and “murders”.
Delegates Unbound, a group urging delegates to “vote their conscience” at the convention, insists that delegates can vote for the candidate they want at the convention – even if that candidate isn’t Trump.
All of a sudden, some delegates are heaving a sigh, wondering yet again – albeit privately – if they have candidate they can trust.
The 50 Alabama delegates and 47 alternates on their way to the convention, led by the first USA senator – Jeff Sessions – to endorse Trump, are compelled by state party rules to vote in line with results of Alabama’s spring presidential primary, which Trump won in a romp.

Letlow said all five of Rubio’s Louisiana delegates have committed to supporting Trump. Ted Cruz still has over 100 delegates pledged to him under the primary, and we follow those rules.
“We have been getting an average of 30 to 40 emails a day from people wanting us to “vote the conscious clause” and basically free up everybody”, said Jones.
That means 36 state delegates will go for Trump; 13 will vote for Texas Sen.

Although Trump did not win the Iowa caucus, the Iowa delegation is bound to vote for him.
