Likely Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein lamented Bernie Sanders’ endorsement of Hillary Clinton Tuesday, tweeting, “many Bernie hearts are breaking right now”.

Sanders stressed that his endorsement of Clinton comes after his supporters and Clinton supporters worked together within the Democratic Party Platform Committee to adopt “the most progressive platform in the history of the Democratic Party”.

“I have come here to make it as clear as possible as to why I’m endorsing Hillary Clinton and why she must become our next president”, Sanders told a roaring crowd.”I have come here today not to talk about the past, but to focus on the future”, he said, a future will be shaped by what happens in voting booths on November 8th, when Americans go to vote. “She will be the Democratic nominee for president and I intend to do everything I can to make certain she will be the next president of the United States”, Sanders said.

Sanders has spent the past month seeking to influence the party’s platform for the Philadelphia convention and promote electoral reforms including allowing independents to participate in future primaries.

But some Arizona delegates in the “Bernie or Bust” movement said they were extremely upset by the endorsement, saying it changed their perspective on Sanders’ campaign and the convention. Regardless, effective July 25, Clinton will be poised to formally receive the Democratic nomination for president. “While Donald Trump is busy insulting Mexicans, Muslims, women, African Americans and veterans, Hillary Clinton understands that our diversity is one of our greatest strengths”.

Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine, widely considered to be among the favorites to be Clinton’s running mate, and Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, a liberal stalwart popular with Sanders’ followers. The platform includes many of his proposals, including a $15 an hour minimum wage, tougher restrictions on Wall Street and an end to the death penalty.

Their appearance at the Tuesday rally takes place less than a week before the Republican National Convention in Cleveland.

But those backing the Vermont Senator say Clinton needs to do more to get their support. He added: “She stands for everything that I am against”.

A day earlier in an interview to Vox, Clinton said she expressed concern over IT workers being displaced and being asked to train people.

“In these stressful times for our country, this election must be about bringing our people together, not dividing us up”, Sanders said.

“Bernie Sanders, who has lost most of his leverage, has totally sold out to Crooked Hillary Clinton”, Trump wrote on Twitter.
