New United star Ibrahimovic is a amusing guy – Mourinho

It is obvious that Manchester United were a option but now they are really the frontrunners to get the Frenchman Paul Pogba.

“I was so happy to go for him and obviously he’s happy to work with me”. United face Everton four days later in Wayne Rooney’s testimonial, before getting the season underway with the Community Shield against Premier League champions Leicester City on 7 August. He joked and said he didn’t recognize it before saying that they’re “my first club, my first family”.

Ibrahimovic joined Manchester United earlier this month on a free transfer after his contract with Paris Saint Germain ended in June and when asked about the 34-year-old, Mourinho was evidently excited about the Swede’s arrival.

They also say that Pogba will sign a deal worth an eye-watering £202,000-a-week (£200,000-a-week just will not do, frankly) when he returns from a holiday in America. “We’ll see, we’ll see”.

“I’ve been to Asia with three different clubs and I know that the fans are completely in love, first of all, with football and, after that, with people”.

If Pogba truly had no interest in leaving Juventus, he wouldn’t have played along with the reporter. “I’ll take three”, he diplomatically replied. A tongue in cheek interview, but still doesn’t do much in allaying fears from Juve that he may well leave this summer. It’s hard to put a valuation on any player, let alone a central midfielder whose contributions aren’t tied directly in goals as it is for strikers. It’s looking more and more likely with every passing day.

Well when it’s put it like that, maybe £100million isn’t too insane after all?

Here's why Zlatan Ibrahimovic's Manchester United debut will be extra special for the player
