Leg spinner Yasir Shah took six wickets in the innings for Pakistan as England were all out on 272 in their first innings on the third day of the Lord’s Test match.

England were then gifted a wicket when Mohammad Hafeez carelessly fell for a duck as he guided Broad straight to Root at second slip in the manner of a coach giving fielders catching practice.
As for Shah getting his name on the honours board Ahmed – who took five for 57 in Pakistan’s 164-run win over England at Lord’s in 1996 – added: “It’s a great honour for Yasir to take five wickets here too, at the home of cricket”. He contributed four runs with the blade.
While Amir is yet to find his rhythm, Yasir has already proved lethal for England with a six-wicket haul in the first innings.
The leg-spinner erased a 125-year-old milestone on the third morning at Lord’s, and requires just 18 more wickets to reach the 100 wicket landmark in world-record time.
Shafiq and Sarfraz frustrated England in the evening session, rapidly enhancing Pakistan’s lead.
Bairstow made amends by taking simple chances to dismiss Sarfraz and Wahab late in the day, ensuring Woakes had 11 to set up an intriguing fourth day.
But before that, they would be hoping to add some more to their second innings score of 214 for 8 to put the hosts under pressure. Moeen Ali, however, opened his account in the game with the prized scalp of the Pakistani captain, who fell without troubling the scorers. For the second time in match, Azhar left the field shaking his head after a failed with a review against a tight lbw decision, Hawk-Eye siding with umpire Joel Wilson’s decision that the ball would have gone on to clip leg stump.
Pakistan look to be well on top of the match, but they may well have out performed expectations in their first innings.
Pre-Lunch session belongs to Pakistan, after another terrific performance with the bowl.
All the credit must go to Yasir though, the players have to deliver and he did that brilliantly.
Debutant Jake Ball was run out by Shan Masood as he looked for a second run to keep Woakes on strike but was short by some distance as Pakistan wrapped up the England tail.
Pakistan stuttered at 75-4 but Shafiq produced a half-century stand with Younis Khan (25), then Shah frustrated England’s bowlers with a career-best unbeaten 30 to swell the lead.
He returned later in the day to bowl the obdurate Asad Shafiq for 49 and have both Sarfraz and Wahab Riaz caught behind with an outswinger and attempted bouncer respectively.

England will have to play him much better second time round if they are to pull off their highest chase on this ground to avoid going 1-0 down with three to play.
