Microsoft talks subscriptions for Windows and plans for Surface/Hololens

Yesterday, Microsoft released the July 14 update for the Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book. On top of that, this firmware update adds stability and performance improvements.

Rumors surrounding the new tablet have continually indicated that it will end up featuring Intel’s Kaby Lake processor, though Microsoft has yet to formally address this particular bit of online chatter.

At the time, we noted what drivers had been updated, but Microsoft had yet to refresh their Surface Update History page. Additionally, the updated Surface System Aggregator Firmware driver makes the keyboard more stable once the device comes out of hibernation or standby mode.

Screen rotation issues have also been fixed with the latest Intel HD Graphics Driver to stand by for an important update.

According to Ecumenical News, a lot of rumors have floated various possible release dates for this device.

This week, Microsoft has revealed that it will soon begin offering its enterprise users a subscription option for Windows 10, allowing companies to pay $7 per month or $84 per year for a Windows 10 license, rather than bulk-buying full licenses for the OS.

Consumers not wanting to manually download the new firmware and drivers can just let Windows 10 upgrade for them through Windows Update.
