On Sunday, he attended his first Braves game at Fort Bragg, where he once lived before being deployed to Europe to fight in WWII.

He claimed he got tickets and entrance into the game from a friend, but his mentions said otherwise.

To say the least, they were not happy and even went to the lengths of starting a petition to ban him from all Major League Baseball games.

“Zack Hample is an attention whore who claims to have caught/collected more than 9,000 baseballs from 52 MLB stadiums”.

Col. Jeff Munn, battalion commander with the 1st Battalion, 319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment, came bearing special gifts for Edwards, who served with an artillery unit for 37 months on the front lines during World War II.

Hample, the self-proclaimed “King of Snagging”, took to Twitter to explain how he gained access to the game, and was immediately put under fire for earlier tweets of Hample offering $1000 for a ticket to the event. Given this most recent violation of MLB, Fort Bragg, and our military on the eve of our nation’s Independence Day, tonight’s game should be Mr. Hample’s last. Manfred, players union executive director Tony Clark, and MLB chief baseball officer Joe Torre made a stop Sunday afternoon at the Fisher House — which provides military families with housing close to loved ones during hospitalizations — as part of a series of stops around the sprawling Army post in the sandhills of North Carolina.

As of 10:18 p.m. ET Monday, the petition had garnered over 1,494 signatures.
