The Real Madrid superstar has unquestionably earned a place among the pantheon of the greatest players in history, but his on-field demeanour and sometimes seemingly selfish attitude have drawn criticism in the past.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored the winning goal against Atletico Madrid to win Real Madrid their 11th champions league crown and was again, inspiration in the dugout as Portugal won their first ever worldwide trophy. He was the second highest goal scorer in the La Liga behind Luis Suarez and also won the Bronze shoe in the Euro 2016.

The 3 time Ballon d’Or victor is the front-runner this time to bag the prestigiou honour.

The victor of the next Ballon d’Or award won’t be named for another six months, but Neymar is pretty sure about who it’ll be.

And though his teammate Messi beat Ronaldo to the award a year ago, Neymar says the Madrid man is the favourite for the next one. “He is a great player and I have no hesitation in saying this”.

Last year, the Ballon d’Or nominations were dominated by two clubs.
