Authorities said he shot an elderly woman, who was a patient, and a hospital employee.

Police said a person was taken into custody when officers arrived at the hospital, but the motive remains unknown. “I can not stress enough the response of the Parrish Medical staff. (They), without a doubt, saved more lives”.

“Their actions to attack the suspect and work as a team kept others from getting hurt”.

Two women are dead after a shooting on the third floor of Parrish Medical Center in Titusville early Sunday morning.

Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey called the shooting random because it doesn’t appear the gunman knew either of his victims. No details have been released regarding the weapon used in the Florida hospital shooting.
