US agency: Police presence planned for Ben Franklin Bridge for papal visit
The U.S. Secret Service and Philadelphia law enforcement officials will not be screening visitors to Philadelphia crossing the Ben Franklin Bridge during the visit by Pope Francis, the federal agency said Friday in a written statement. That list will apply only to those planning to access specific papal venues in Center City, he said.

Frustration with the rumor was apparent in Hoback’s statement, which included all caps emphasis on several phrases.
“It has been stated a number of times that the speculative reporting from anonymous law enforcement officials and others on the security of this event performs absolutely no function except to paint a false and misleading picture in front of the public”, Hoback said.
In the traffic box, private vehicles will be allowed to exit, but they will not be permitted to re-enter.
