Udonis Haslem: “Wade Leaving Could Have Been Avoided”

Dwyane Wade has signed his contract with the Chicago Bulls.

Riley, the Heat’s president, said if he had the chance, he would have handled Wade’s free agency differently. We are delighted he has chose to become a Bull, as he provides a great veteran perspective on the court and in the locker room.

Sports Illustrated’s FanSided suggested five teams where Dragić will be a good fit if ever the Heat consider parting ways with him. That’s when Heat managing general partner Micky Arison and CEO Nick Arison apparently decided not to raise their offer to match that of Chicago, which had offered $47 million for two years.

There are rumors that the Bulls have signed Dwyane Wade for the publicity of the team. The Heat and their fans are still coming to terms with losing Wade and are honoring him in every way possible, but soon it will be time for everyone to move on and accept that once the season starts, D-Wade will be rocking a Chicago Bulls jersey. The Bulls are testing the waters with these free agents and have made it clear that they want to be contenders this year. The Richards High product finally picked his hometown franchise when he rejected the Heat’s two-year $41 million deal after years of taking lesser deals for other signings. Wade will also not go down in history as the longest tenured Miami player. I’m excited to play at a place that I’ve always envisioned playing in, playing in the city I was born and raised in. But, really, the only thing that’s going to matter to me and the only change that matters to me is No. 3 going to Chicago. From a basketball standpoint, I’ve been told we’re sort of put on hold here.

“Just because there are so many players in the league from Marquette, I do think there’s a brotherhood because of that”.

DRUMMOND TO DETROIT: Andre Drummond has his huge contract with Detroit, and an extra season of waiting seems to have worked out fine. Riley told ESPN that he was not as involved in the negotiation process for the 34-year-old guard, who helped the Heat to three National Basketball Association titles and is the franchise’s all-time leading scorer.

Teams can carry as many as 15 players during the regular season and as many as 20 in training camp. “With Dwyane being out, I’m sure we’re going to have to get going more”. Last season, Wade was south of all three of these averages, but still managed to lead his team to the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

Van Gundy said the Pistons couldn’t have done all that if they hadn’t been able to wait on Drummond’s deal.

Bosh, who is an 11-time All-Star, put up averages of almost 19 points and seven rebounds per game last season in 53 games before having his season ended for the second straight year due to blood clot issues.
