The two have had differing views on issues including abortion and trade.

“By picking Mike Pence as his running mate, Donald Trump has doubled down on some of his most disturbing beliefs by choosing an incredibly divisive and unpopular running mate”, said John Podesta, Clinton’s campaign chairman. “America needs to be strong for the world to be safe”.
His far-ranging remarks devoted more time to recapping his primary victories – and he even found time to tout his new hotel in Washington – than introducing the relatively unknown Pence to America’s voters.
When Pence finally took the stage, he introduced himself as a “Christian, conservative and a Republican, in that order”. Under Pence, the RSC, which was founded to correct the leftward shift of of the GOP under President Richard Nixon, had a whip operation to hold its members together as a concentrated force. “Indiana works because Republican principles work whenever you put them into practice”.
Cleveland Police Chief Calvin Williams says in a Sunday appearance on CBS’ “Face the Nation” that “everyone is coming to Cleveland to protest or exercise their First Amendment rights” throughout the convention, where Donald Trump presumably will be named his party’s presidential nominee.
He also said he won’t deliver a speech at the Republican National Convention that begins Monday. At the same time, Cruz is shuffling his Senate and Kitchen cabinets to set up for a presidential run in 2020.
After Trump’s more than 20-minute speech, which often deviated from Pence, the two men shared the spotlight for only the briefest of moments when Pence walked out and they shook hands, and again after Pence had finished speaking and was joined by Trump and both men’s families.
In foreign policy, Trump would lead from strength, Pence said.
Whatley is also saddened knowing IN will lose a governor he agrees with on so many levels.
Although Indiana is part of the Midwestern industrial region known as the Rust Belt, which has lost manufacturing jobs, Trump said that as governor Pence had brought down unemployment, balanced the budget and made the state’s largest income tax cut.
“For the sake of our security, for the sake of our prosperity, for the sake of a Supreme Court that will never turn its back on our God-given liberties”, Pence said.

“Donald Trump again and again emerged because I think very much like the 40th president that you and I so admire, Ronald Reagan, Donald Trump understands the anxiety and the aspiration of the American people like no leader since Reagan”.
