Pokemon GO’s servers are now down

The crash comes on the same day that Pokémon GO received its official launch in more than 20 new European countries, including Denmark, Sweden and Norway. A hacking group known as PoodleCorp said that they were responsible for shutting down the servers as noted in a report in Reddit. However, a hacking collective is claiming responsibility for this particular slowdown, saying that it brought the servers down with a DDoS attack.

Pokémon Go was offline for much of Saturday morning in the U.S.as a major outage has hit the game’s servers around the same time the game has launched in more than two dozen countries.

Niantic, the app’s developers, did not blame the server meltdowns on a malicious attack; instead, the company announced, “Due to the incredible number of Pokémon GO downloads, some Trainers are experiencing server connectivity issues”.

@TomBMax19 wrote: “when the british summer weather is actually ideal for once and its the weekend and you’re ready to catch pokemon and the servers are down”.

It Might be caused by continuing server-side issues. “We will do something on a larger scale soon”.

Cartoonist AC Stuart, aka “Noob the Loser“, has come up with a series of Pokemon Go comics about dating a PoGo player. Pokemon Go tweeted that there were servers issues and they are working on it.
