‘I’m no fan of Pauline’s politics, but goading someone out of a public event like this, while abusing them for being redneck with red hair isn’t OK in my books.

‘Go away – go back to Ipswich and your fish and chip shop.

“You’re disgraceful, you are a woman lacking moral fibre, you are intellectually dishonest and you are not welcome here”.

In a video posted to Facebook, the senator describes how she believes Yanner’s reaction wasn’t called for, considering the support she’d previously received from well-known Indigenous artist Ken Thaiday. Wouldn’t it have been better to have let her attend and have the chance to learn something, either from the exhibition or from talking to the people there?’ one said.

The confrontation between Murrandoo Yanner and Ms Hanson was caught on camera and has garnered more than 1.2 million views on Facebook since Saturday.

Ms Hanson has courted widespread controversy for her attitudes toward Asian and Muslim immigration.

“She made no attempt to respond to him”.

Social media users also questioned why the crew was there.

Ms Hanson became the first female independent to be elected to the House of Representatives when she won the seat of Oxley in 1996.

Hanson has made a stunning political comeback after being elected to the senate in the July 2 federal election.
