Trump rolls out Pence as running mate with pointed contrasts to Clinton
Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump introduced IN governor Mike Pence as his vice presidential running mate on Saturday, describing him as a job creator and budget balancer who will help unify the party.

Where Trump is impulsive, Pence is cool-headed. Where Trump makes conservatives suspicious, Pence has credibility. “He’s really got the skills of a highly talented executive”, he said.
In a wide-ranging speech in which he touted his own “landslide” victory in the Republican primaries, Trump cast Pence as a flawless complement for the White House: a veteran of government, a man with a Midwestern sensibility and strong Republican credentials as a job creator and budget balancer.
“Any of them would do a phenomenal job”, Vaughn said, adding that Trump was looking for someone who would be able to take over at any point and continue to “make America great again”. “But I’m not angry about it”.
The former congressman also is a proven fundraiser with close ties to billionaire industrialists David and Charles Koch and their network of wealthy donors, many of whom have been dismissive of Trump.
He thinks that Mike Pence, 57, is the flawless man for the job and on July 16, he’ll tell the IN governor, “You’re hired!” “He’s a counterbalance to Trump in that way”.
Donald Trump is introducing Mike Pence as his running mate, calling Indiana’s governor “his first choice” to join him on the Republican presidential ticket.
Not so long ago, their relationship was a little awkward.
Trump was introduced by Pence at a rally in IN on Tuesday night, and the real estate mogul ended his speech by speculating about Pence’s future.
“What a difference between crooked Hillary Clinton and Mike Pence”, Trump said. Ted Cruz, while still lavishing praise on Trump.
Addressing the terrorist attack in Nice, France, that killed at least 84, Trump said the world is experiencing “horror beyond belief, no matter where you look”.
Pence is also seen as having a cool-headed tone and steady hand that could counter the impulsive, often brash Trump, and his social conservatism could allay fears about Trump’s views on issues such as abortion.
On March 26, 2015, Pence signed the IN “religious objections” bill into law that some saw as a pass to discriminate against LGBT people.
He said Pence would stand up to America’s enemies and that he and the governor represent “the law-and-order candidates” at home.
Raised in Columbus, Indiana, in an Irish-Catholic family, Pence revered the Kennedys growing up and has said he voted for Jimmy Carter in 1980.
Holcomb, an adviser to former Gov. Mitch Daniels who has never won a race of his own, offered few specifics beyond that, saying he would “share that when I become the candidate for governor”.
After attending Hanover College, Pence graduated from Indiana University Law School in 1986.
Yet Pence is largely unknown to many Americans.
“Congress should oppose any effort to put gay and lesbian relationships on an equal legal status with heterosexual marriage”, Pence wrote in his legislative agenda. In fact, he spent about as much time lambasting Clinton as praising Pence, declaring she had led President Barack Obama “down a frightful path” overseas.

After Pence thanked his many family members there with him, he turned to Whatley and the hundreds of other supporters who came to hear from him for the first time since the official introduction.
