Brandon Bass agrees to veteran’s minimum deal with Clippers
The Clippers have waived forward Branden Dawson. Bass is a resident of Los Angeles, and though he had matching offers from the San Antonio Spurs, as well as the Clippers, he made a decision to rejoin his old coach in LA.

Those averages don’t tell the whole story for Bass, who was one of the most productive players for the Lakers at times.
The Clippers will use him in a back-up role, likely playing alongside recently-signed forward Marreese Speights. A 2005 second-round pick of the New Orleans Pelicans, Bass has played in over 700 games in his National Basketball Association career, and will likely be a trusted presence in the Clippers’ locker room this season.
The former Michigan State standout appeared in six games with the Clippers in 2015-16, averaging 0.8 points and 0.7 rebounds in 4.8 minutes.
The Clippers and free agent forward Brandon Bass have reached an agreement on a veteran’s minimum deal, the Southern California News Group has confirmed.

Balance is the ultimate addition that Bass brings to the table, but with that comes a reunion of sorts with head coach Doc Rivers.
