There is ‘no Kashmir issue’ between India, Pak: Jitendra

Islamabad has been provocative in their reaction to incidents that has unfolded in the Valley with Sharif announcing that Pakistan would be observing 19 July as “black day”. “Every Kashmiri considers him a martyr, every Kashmiri on our side considers him a martyr… So [the Pakistan government’s decision] was more in the nature of going along with the Kashmiris”.

In New Delhi, India’s Foreign Affairs Ministry spokesman Vikas Swarup asked Pakistan to desist from interfering in India’s internal affairs and destabilising the situation in South Asia through the support of “terrorism” and other subversive acts.

On the call of Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, the Federal Cabinet yesterday decided that the country will observe July 19 as “Black Day” against the Indian “barbarism in the Kashmir Valley”.

“Pakistan’s present attitude makes its clear in front of the world that somewhere it is backing the terrorists because of which it has been left aside”.

He was replying to a volley of questions from journalists over Pakistan’s remarks on the prevailing situation in Kashmir in the wake of violence following the killing of Hizbul commander Burhan Wani in an encounter.

Pakistan also briefed the ambassadors of African and Middle Eastern countries over the situation in Kashmir.

LCCI President Sheikh Muhammad Arshad, Senior Vice President Almas Hyder and Vice President Nasir Saeed said that worldwide community should not play the role of silent spectator on the issue as violation of human rights in Kashmir by India is creating unrest in the region, said a press release issued on Saturday. “Indian tyranny will only strengthen the freedom movement in Kashmir and Pakis tan will continue to extend moral, political and diplomat ic support to Kashmiris in their just struggle for their right to self-determination”, Sharif told those in attendance. “We’re gravely concerned about the violence”, she said.

Speaking to the participants of the cabinet meeting, the premier said Indian forces have not and would not be able to hold back decades-old freedom fight of the Kashmiri people. Commenting on the PDP MP Muzaffar Beg’s demand that there should be a probe into Wani’s death, Tewari said that this is a sensitive matter.
