Fox News’ Ailes Hires Estrich, Top Legal Gun for Carlson Case
A stunning report today is claiming that Fox News Chairman and CEO Roger Ailes is out. And while the lawsuit may have been the jumping off point, sources tell NY that it has expanded into a full-blown investigation of Ailes’ management style.

James Murdoch wants to present Ailes this week with the option to either resign or face being removed, while Lachlan and Rupert Murdoch reportedly favor pushing off any action until after the Republican National Convention, which opened Monday in Cleveland.
Ailes biographer Gabriel Sherman writes in NY magazine that Ailes will be asked this week by James Murdoch to resign or face dismissal if Murdoch has his way; his father Rupert Murdoch and brother Lachlan are advocating to hold off until the end of the Republican national convention, an event Fox News covers zealously.
Somewhat ironically, Fox News-a network that thrived on fear mongering-is in the grips of that very emotion. Parent company 21st Century Fox declined comment.
Ailes was sued for alleged sexual harassment by Carlson, who claimed she was sacked in June for refusing his sexual advances and complaining about his conduct.

Ms Carlson said she was ostracised by the news network because she had refused to accept condescending treatment from the married CEO. The interviews are now being conducted at Paul, Weiss’s midtown offices because of concerns that the Fox offices could be bugged, sources say.
