Kelly says RB Bryant won’t play for Notre Dame in 2015

So far, Bryant has struggled to live up to the high expectations that he brought with him to Notre Dame as the No. 2 running back recruit in the 2013 class. After playing in three games his freshman year, Bryant took a medical redshirt because of knee tendinitis. “It’s the culture of this program, which means you hold each other accountable”. Hill’s transfer, however, would make a return from Williams that much more important. “It’s really about that, and that goes to culture and that mindset”. Should the Irish experience a rash of injuries like they did a year ago, however, and things could get precarious pretty quickly.

“Each conference should play nine league games and have a title game”.

The Irish begin practice on Friday in Culver, about 40 miles south of campus. “Honestly, I don’t know that any of our players would get into the school by themselves right now with the academic standards the way they are. It’s focusing on the mission, which is winning a national championship”, linebacker Jaylon Smith said. “We certainly were guided through this process in terms of what he needed to do”. Ultimately, Hill enrolled at Notre Dame and even started off his career with a bang making a couple big plays against Michigan. But between Folston, Prosise and dual-threat quarterback Malik Zaire, the offense should be able to manage.

The Irish coaching staff will need to prepare Senior swingman C.J. Gaulden started five of the Badgers’ 14 games last season.

Kelly said Notre Dame feels confident the NCAA will rule Russell eligible to play, saying Russell did everything necessary. Kelly described the process with Williams as “ongoing”. He remains on scholarship and will be able to practice with the team this season.

Irish junior running back Greg Bryant will not appear on Notre Dame’s roster in 2015, according to a statement released by head coach Brian Kelly on Tuesday.
