Giants finally get relief in 4-2 win over Diamondbacks
In the final Major League Baseball game before the All-Star break, the Arizona Diamondbacks and the San Francisco Giants will be meeting at AT&T Park on Sunday.

Bumgarner did not walk a batter, and although his shot at a flawless game ended in the fifth with a sun-induced error by left fielder Gregor Blanco, the left-hander took a no-hit bid into the eighth for the third time.
Even though general manager Dave Stewart assured the trade “isn’t the case of us throwing in the towel”, manager Chip Hale admitted he understood the logic.
The San Francisco Giants ace took a no-hitter into the eighth inning Sunday against the Diamondbacks. “When you’re scratching for anything, that’s a heck of an at-bat”. The lefty twice previous fanned 14 in his career, both times last season (June 23 against the San Diego Padres and August 16 against the Washington Nationals). He struck out 10 or more for the 29th time in his Giants career, the second most in franchise history behind Tim Lincecum’s 36.Crawford capped a two-run first inning off Arizona starter Archie Bradley with his sacrifice fly, then provided the crowning blow in the Giants’ two-run seventh. San Francisco’s four-time All-Star was almost untouchable while notching his fourth career one-hitter. “You want these guys to have a chance to pitch in the (All-Star Game)”.
During Saturday’s Giants game against the Arizona Diamondbacks, MVP catcher Buster Posey went to toss a ball back to pitcher Jakey Peavy on the mound while Peavey was distracted arguing with third base umpire Quinn Wolcott.
The Giants already ensured themselves a series victory; their series record is 9-0-1 against NL West opponents since they lost their last one to a division opponent April 18-21.
Usually, Bumgarner treats a start like a work day on his North Carolina ranch. San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Madison Bumgarner, left, delivers against the Arizona Diamondbacks during the third inning of a baseball game on Sunday, July 10, 2016, in San Francisco.
Rickie Weeks Jr. drew a leadoff walk in the ninth, but Bumgarner retired Nick Ahmed on an infield pop-up then got Jean Segura to ground into a game-ending double play.
“A one-hit shutout never stings”. “It felt good. It felt good all the way around”. Green followed with his two-run shot and matched his career high for home runs in a season; he has hit exactly one in each of the past four years. He rung up Brandon Drury on three pitches – called strike on a cutter, fouled curve and a fastball that slipped past a swing into Buster Posey’s mitt.
Bradley (3-5) allowed two runs over six innings.

“And obviously we don’t win every single one, but when you have that confidence going out there, it helps you relax a little bit”, said Belt. “I thought he did his best at the end”.
