Universal Pictures and Legendary Pictures have released a new TV spot for ‘Steve Jobs’ which features Michael Fassbender as Steve Jobs, the late Apple co-founder and CEO.

The Michael Fassbender-starring biopic, based on Walter Isaacson’s best-selling biography Steve and written by Aaron Sorkin, will be given a gala screening in the British capital on October. 18, which will also mark the film’s European premiere.
Fassbender plays the Apple co-founder and tech pioneer in a story that focuses on three major events in the lifespan of his career, and in Apple’s growth: the creation of the Macintosh in 1984, NeXT in 1988 and the iMac launch in 1998.
The hype around Steve Jobs – as both a man and a myth – continues to grow.
The film is directed by Danny Boyle, whose films Slumdog Millionaire and 127 Hours have closed previous BFI Film Festivals in 2008 and 2010 respectively.
The 59th BFI London Film Festival in partnership with American Express® is delighted to announce that this year’s Closing Night film will be Steve Jobs. The director himself said he’d had a brilliant time shooting the film in Silicon Valley and “It’s always special to bring work home”.

The full programme for the BFI London Film Festival will be announced on 1st September but we already know that Suffragette – another film tipped to be an Oscar runner – has the honour of opening the festival. There’s also a showdown with Steve Wozniak, and a scene showing the moment when Jobs was booted from his own company. The producers are Mark Gordon, Guymon Casady of Film 360, Scott Rudin and Academy Award victor Christian Colson.
