Outside of the Star Wars movies, one of the best places for fans to get their fix from a galaxy far far away has always been the video games. Much has been speculated about the upcoming Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, the first stand-alone film of the Star Wars universe, but now, we finally have answers – sort of.
Star Wars: Battlefront may be skipping the Force Awakens time frame, but Rogue One is fair game and coming this holiday season.

At the Star Wars Rebels panel today at Star Wars Celebration, executive producer Dave Filoni announced that the character would be the next major villain for the show. Due out on December 16, this latest installment of the space opera saga centers on a pair of resistance fighters (played by Felicity Jones and Diego Luna) who set out on a mission to steal the Empire’s plans for the Death Star.
It also appears that we will be seeing fan favorite Wedge Antilles join the rebels alongside an older Ezra, a broken Kanan and a world that marches ever closer to the events of A New Hope.

Before the panel ended, the crowd was treated to two new and exclusive teaser trailers and a sizzle reel including a behind-the-scenes look at production.
