Release date for Xbox One S is August 2

As well as being smaller, the Xbox One S also features a built-in power supply (bye bye, power brick!), up to 2TB of storage, and support for 4K Ultra HD with High Dynamic Range (HDR). 4K support for blu rays and streaming videos has been added in Xbox One S. The console will also feature HDR in both games and other media, provided those games and media have support for it.

Microsoft will be also launching a 500GB and 1TB configuration of the Xbox One S before the end of the year, but local pricing for either has yet to be confirmed. The good news is, we won’t have to wait too long to get our hands on one, as Microsoft just announced that the system will start hitting shelves August 2.

The slim version will support all existing and future Xbox One games, and all future games will also continue to support the original console.

Officially unveiled during the Microsoft conference at the E3 2016, the new model of Xbox One called Xbox One S announced today its future availability in Europe on 2nd August 2016. Think of like, to use Microsoft’s own odd vernacular, an Xbox One Point Five.

As far as design is concerned, the Xbox One S has been the revolutionary introduction into the market. The 1TB and 500GB haven’t received release dates yet.

The Xbox One S will come bundled with a new Xbox wireless controller and can be purchased as a standalone item for $60.
