The former candidate is on a partial list of speakers convention organizers released today.
One name that is noticeably absent from the speaker’s list for the Democratic convention is Elizabeth Warren, who has been hitting the campaign trail hard for Clinton. Monday night will be organized around the theme “United Together”, and it will focus on the strengths of the country’s diversity and the importance of the American family.
CNN reports that the President and First Lady, Bernie Sanders, and of course Bill Clinton will be speaking at the four-day convention that kicks off July 25 in Philadelphia.
Tuesday, July 26: The theme will be “A Lifetime of Fighting for Children and Families”.
President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden will speak Wednesday, with a focus on the stakes of the election and the progress made under their administration. The Democratic Convention will not only be an opportunity to solidify the party’s platform and goals; it will also be an opportunity to portray Clinton as an experienced, empathetic, accomplished stateswoman to an audience whose support ranges from fanatical to skeptical.
The Mothers of the Movement participating include Gwen Carr, mother of Eric Garner; Sybrina Fulton, mother of Trayvon Martin; Maria Hamilton, mother of Dontré Hamilton; Lucia McBath, mother of Jordan Davis; Lezley McSpadden, mother of Michael Brown; Cleopatra Pendleton-Cowley, mother of Hadiya Pendleton; and Geneva Reed-Veal, mother of Sandra Bland.
Thursday night will feature Clinton’s primetime address, where the then nominee “will speak about her vision for our country – her belief that we are stronger together and that America is at its best when we work together to solve our problems”.
Clinton’s campaign has already begun hitting Donald Trump’s VP pick Mike Pence with a series of attacks. Hillary Clinton and Chelsea Clinton will speak Thursday July 29, the last night of the convention.
