This is Donald Trump’s (very) grand entrance to the RNC in Cleveland

Melania Trump’s speech about her husband was the centerpiece of the 10 p.m. hour when the broadcasters were on the air, and it consumed much of their attention.

Melania took to the stage for the biggest speech of her life, pouring out heartfelt praises for her husband, who she is convinced will be “an wonderful leader”.

The tycoon was introducing his wife Melania, who made her highest-profile appearance of the presidential campaign as she assured voters that her husband will unite a divided nation.

Melania Trump received several standing ovations during her speech.

Her speech did serve as a counterbalance to a series of speakers delivering warnings of the dangers facing the US from within and outside its borders as well as attacks on presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton and the Obama administration. But she briefly became an issue in the race in March, when an anti-Trump super PAC released an ad showing a risque photo of her from a GQ photo shoot, showing her handcuffed to a briefcase, lying on a fur blanket.

Mrs Trump told delegates: “If you want someone to fight for you and your country, I can assure you, he is the guy”.

So instead of the convention, the network aired the interview, during which Trump explained that he planned a simple introduction for his wife Monday.

Campaigning in Cincinnati on Monday afternoon, Democrat Clinton called for an end to the “madness”, saying that if elected she would use all her powers to hold those who kill police officers legally accountable. “She’s worked hard on it”. He said Monday at the convention in Cleveland that presumptive Republican nominee Trump isn’t “a messiah”.

Melania Trump says her husband is the United State’s best hope for a better future. And “she appeals to a different demographic”.

But she is often seen more than she is heard. She is something of a reluctant campaign spouse – preferring to stand by her man, but only making rare, brief cameras at the podium herself.

Daughter Ivanka Trump will introduce her father on Thursday, the convention’s final day.

Despite a few quick words at the microphone in the early states of Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina, Melania’s only real speech this election didn’t come until April in Milwaukee on the eve of the Wisconsin’s primary.

And you know what else?

Hundreds of socially conservative delegates opposed to nominating Trump protested noisily after the convention’s presiding officer, Arkansas GOP Rep. Steve Womack, abruptly put the rules to a vote and declared them approved by voice.

Three people who lost loved ones to undocumented immigrants all addressed the GOP crowd in Cleveland.

But as she demurs from the spotlight, she is taking a strong behind-the-scenes role.

Initially, Melania did not seem to be entirely on board with the idea of her husband launching a White House bid. “We have a lot of problems in our state with unfunded pension liabilities and nearly 10 billion of unpaid bills, and he needs to deal with that”.

She has been known to step in at key moments during the campaign to help diffuse a situation, calling her husband out at some of the most controversial moments during his campaign, telling him to tone down his rhetoric or act more presidential.

“If I were him and I got beaten that badly, I probably wouldn’t have shown up either”, Kasich said. He’s an adult. He knows the consequences. Scott Brown, who ran for Senate in the Granite State and told the delegation that he has no plans of leaving. It’s time we had an administration that cares more about Americans than illegals. The Trump campaign will call this a media-created story, but that mashup will be veeeeerrrrrry hard to explain.
