Rajinikanth’s Kabali leaks online three days before release

Incredible as it sounds, the Madras High Court’s anti-piracy ruling has been defied and the superstar’s new film Kabali has reportedly been leaked online, days before it releases worldwide on Friday. Ahead of the release of Rajini’s much awaited movie Kabali, the fans of Thalaiva are euphoric! The expectations on KABALI are very high all over the world.

Declaring the release date of a film as a holiday is unprecedented even in a movie mad country like India. Makers are planning to dub the movie in Chinese, Thai, Japanese and Indonesian languages.

According to reports, there are several links being provided to view the film in the Dark Web (overlay networks that use the public internet but require specific software, configurations or authorisation to access), that is set for a July 22 release. This damages the film’s business and it may lead producers to go into the loss.

Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) chief Pahlaj Nihalani, who faced flak for Udta Punjab’s leak, also expressed his concern for Kabali’s leak and said, “They’ve not even spared Rajinikanth’s film”. If you are lucky you might spot a Kabali themed bus with fans on board, cruising on the streets of Mumbai.

He also added, “These leaks don’t hamper the big-budgeted films with big stars like Sultan and Kabali”.

The makers are trying keep the matter as hushed as possible and are contacting the concerned authorities to pull down all these unauthorised links to the film. Salman Khan’s Sultan found its way to dark web a few hours before its release. “They affect the smaller films, as pointed out in the case of Great Grand Masti”. I could feel the eagerness in my employees, so instead of dealing with mass bunks and mobile switch offs, I came up with the idea of declaring a holiday on July 22 and be a part of the celebration.
