As the second season unfolds, the transformation has begun.

“Guillermo and Carlton have delivered two thrilling seasons of The Strain that are captivating and visually arresting, doing justice to the original novel trilogy and meeting fans’ high expectations in the process”, states FX’s president of original programming Eric Schrier (via TV Line). He and his unlikely allies are forced to try and stop an evil epidemic that’s ravaging New York City. Eph (Corey Stoll) will continue to fight the war against the Master for at least another season. Meanwhile, the Master is out for revenge, unleashing new and even more terrifying breeds of bloodthirsty creatures after our team.

Showrunner Carlton Cuse, co-creators Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan, and actors Corey Stoll, David Bradley, Mia Maestro and Kevin Durand took to the stage on Friday to chat all things vampires. Gary Ungar, J. Miles Dale, Bradley Thompson, David Weddle, and Regina Corrado serve as executive producers.

When The Strain premiered in the summer of 2014 it was considered to be a breakout hit for FX. Season one will be produced by C.K.’s production company Pig Newton for FX Productions.
