Netflix announce the return of Making A Murderer
“The story does continue”, co-show runner Moira Demos said. But everything changed for Avery when he was the primary suspect in a murder and his nephew Brendan Dassey was also believed to have taken part in the grizzly murder.

The new episodes will deal with the post-conviction legal battles of Steven Avery and Brendan Dassey, according to a statement issued Tuesday by Netflix, which released the first season in December 2015.
But does that mean the next season of “Making a Murderer” will focus on someone else’s story, or return to the one we’re familiar with?
We have a feeling the return of the most compelling documentary series of recent times should be enough to lure plenty back into the fold.
The documentary followed the story of Wisconsin man Steven Avery as he was arrested, trialed and convicted for the murder of local photographer Teresa Halbach.
We’ll get to meet Avery’s new lawyer Kathleen Zellner and Dassey’s legal team, led by Laura Nirider and Steve Drizin, as well as gain intimate access to the families and characters close to the case. While the series was not without its own share of controversies, specifically with accusations of cherry-picked evidence and anti-police biases, it nevertheless created an unlikely national conversation about a case that otherwise would not have penetrated even a blurb in the mainstream news. If you don’t have Netflix, you can check out the first episode below.
Before meeting with Netflix, Demos and Ricciardi met with executives at PBS and HBO, but neither network was interested in the project.

It remains unclear how many episodes Season 2 will be comprised of and an official premiere date is expected to be announced in the coming months.
