LOUIE: Louis C.K. Taking An “Extended Hiatus” to Pursue Other Projects
CK wants to go off and work on some other projects for a while, which includes a movie and also executive-producing some other comedies for the network. The comedian is writing, directing and starring in the upcoming indie film I Am A Cop, and “another project” for FX, according to Mr. Landgraf. He explains a comparison to HBO’s deal with Larry David on “Curb Your Enthusiasm” is appropriate to how FX is handling their relationship with CK.

Comedian Louis C.K.is planning on taking another hiatus from his acclaimed FX comedy Louie. It was announced at FX’s TCA panel on Friday that C.K.is taking a breather similar to the one he took in 2012.
No one knows when he’ll be back, or why exactly he’s leaving.
“Better Things” follows Adlon as a working actor with no filter who is trying to juggle her personal and professional lives.
“I’m incredibly grateful to John Landgraf and all the folks at FX and excited to work with them to explore the real and amusing truths of being a single working mom”, Adlon said in a statement. He’s now set as producer of Baskets, a comedy series top-lined by Zach Galifianakis, and Better Things, the recently announced series starring and created by Pamela Adlon, who plays his on-and-off love interest in Louie. He could take a six-month hiatus and come back with some new episode.

The fifth season of Louie aired last spring, but there was a two-year gap between Seasons 3 and 4, which aired in 2012 and 2014.
