It was reported on Tuesday (July 19) that Pippa, the sister of British royal Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, was engaged to Wednesday after her 40-year-old beau proposed during a romantic weekend getaway in the U.K.’s Lake District on Sunday (July 17).

Tuesday morning, the 32-year-old columnist and author stepped out of her London home flashing her gorgeous engagement ring to the waiting photographers, adding that she “couldn’t be happier” with the recent news.
Matthews, who runs Eden Rock Capital Management, reportedly popped the question while they spent some time together at the Lake District of Northwest England.
Pippa leapt into the public consciousness in 2011 when she was her sister’s bridesmaid in a figure-hugging Alexander McQueen dress at the royal wedding.
The couple have been together less than a year but they were living together.
Matthews, whose brother is reality TV star Spencer, is said to have asked her father’s permission first. She garnered her own headlines with an eye-catching gown in a ceremony seen live by a worldwide television audience.
Their wedding – which the royal rumor mill predicts will be next year – is sure to be the most splashy and talked about affair since Pippa’s sister Kate’s wedding to Prince William five years ago.
