Trump Clinches Nomination in Cleveland
Mrs. Trump’s star turn at the Republican National Convention Monday night captivated a GOP crowd that had rarely heard from the wife of Donald Trump.

The official roll call of the states begins this hour, but it was overshadowed all day today by uproar over Melania Trump’s speech last night. And indeed, Trump has made much of vanquishing “Never Trump”, the faction of Republican delegates bent on challenging his nomination at the convention.
It was a rare warm moment on a day when Republicans were focusing on what they see as threats to America under a Democratic White House – and when the party’s infighting was on display in a clash between Trump’s supporters and opponents at the Cleveland convention. It will have happened.
The night’s most prominent speech will come from Indiana Gov. Mike Pence – who, as the GOP vice presidential candidate, will be the prime-time headliner.
Both leaders have endorsed Trump, even as they continue to criticize some of his rhetoric.
Trump’s campaign hoped the convention would also highlight a kinder, gentler side of the brash candidate. This year’s share of black delegates is the lowest one at a Republican national convention in more than a century. Donald Jr.is his eldest son and an executive vice president at The Trump Organization. But it’s mostly been peaceful. “If you want someone to fight for you and your country, I can assure you, he is the guy”, she said. By encouragement and by example, he motivates me to work my hardest and stay true to who I am and what I believe, ‘ she added.
Top Trump adviser Paul Manafort said the matter had been “totally blown out of proportion”.
A former federal prosecutor who has been speculated as possible U.S. attorney general in a Trump administration, Christie took his speech around the world to undermine Clinton’s work as U.S. Secretary of State. After high school, she concentrated on her career, dropping out of architecture school.
“On Tuesday, a last effort to displace Donald Trump failed and he was chosen as the GOP’s official presidential candidate”.
To Trump’s dismay, the first two days saw a rowdy racket on the floor over efforts to quash an anti-Trump rebellion, plus a hubbub over wife Melania Trump’s speech that borrowed passages from Michelle Obama.

Tuesday’s choice of speakers sought to outline the case against Clinton, and also to tout the importance of strengthening the Republican Party in America.
“When you pull back the curtain, it was just Donald Trump with nothing to offer to the American people”, Clinton said during a speech in Las Vegas.
They send their representative to the microphone to declare their state’s pick for president.
Trump’s name was put into the nomination by Alabama Sen.
The organizer, one of the city’s most prominent, says “people contacted me saying, ‘boy I would like to attend but I’ve been hearing about all this violence and people bringing guns… and the huge number of police.’ People just did not feeling comfortable coming”.
The New Yorker’s embrace by the Republican National Convention marks a remarkable moment in USA political history and validates a campaign that shattered precedent, defied pundits and usurped the GOP establishment. In the category of “all media attention is positive when you don’t have to pay for it”, maybe this is yet another way for the Trump campaign to get even more media attention.
“How is [Trump] going to listen to us if he’s elected president, if he’s not listening to us now?” he fumed.

Despite his lack of political experience, Trump touts his business record as a real estate developer and – running counter to Republican free trade orthodoxy – has proposed some protectionist trade policies aimed at preventing job outsourcing.
