Former Xbox One user experience lead heads to Hulu
Whether there was a drop in unit sales of Xbox One is something one can only speculate on, but given the 33% drop in hardware revenue it would seem likely.

This surely isn’t anything new for gamers. In comparison to the $399-priced 2TB version, the smaller capacity Xbox consoles are priced more reasonably with 1TB at $349 and 500GB at $299.
Richard Irving, an 18-year Microsoft veteran who oversaw the development of the Xbox 360 and the Xbox One, recently left the company to become Hulu’s VP of product management (via Variety). The highlight feature is of course the support for Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD with HDR.
However, the increase in Xbox Live usage boosted revenue from the online service by 4 percent, “driven by higher volume of transactions and revenue per transaction”, according to the company. On the face of it, that may sound like disastrous news for the Xbox One versus the PlayStation 4, which has consistently outsold its Microsoft rival by a considerable margin since the two consoles launched at around the same time in 2013. However, only people with compatible TVs will be able to enjoy 4K and HDR.

The Xbox One S will initially arrive in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, UK and the U.S. Other regions will get dibs on the new console later this year. “It actually looks like your Xbox dashboard on the Xbox, and any game you buy as a digital download on Xbox one will show up there, and will be playable on your PC”.
