Spurs fans will be demanding a better performance this time around, and the signs in pre-season have been promising for Mauricio Pochettino’s men.

“Of course, defenders will know about me but I am looking forward to the challenge, of seeing what I come up against and how I deal with it”, Kane says. “Second season syndrome strikes often in young players and I see a season of disappointment”. Last season Spurs managed to get just one goal out of their substitutes, and that needs to change.

The veteran manager also took time to speak about his admiration for current Tottenham manager Pochettino, who he believes will do a great job if he is given the right backing by the club authorities.

“I think that we have very ambitious players now, the younger ones in the group, like Harry”.

Tottenham Hotspur have handed Harry Kane the No. 10 shirt ahead of the coming campaign, as revealed by the player on his Twitter account.

“I think our philosophy is to mix”.

And Pochettino feels the 22-year-old can handle the weight of expectation and expects him to help lead his young squad onto better things.

Gareth Bale was on target against his former club on Tuesday as Real Madrid consigned Tottenham to a 2-0 defeat at the Allianz Arena.to reach the Audi Cup final.

Last season, Spurs had the fifth-worst defensive record in the Premier League. “It could be beneficial for us”, Kane said. We shared minutes in the squad.

“Can’t wait to get the season started tomorrow!” They won’t beat literally everyone, obviously, that would be ridiculous – we just thought that sounded like a good line.
