Man United: Juventus talks continue after Pogba bid fails

Manchester United fans on social media were thrilled with the solid advancements in the deal for Paul Pogba. Real Madrid was said to be the player’s preferred destination, with the UEFA Champions League holders backing off due to the financial might of the Old Trafford club, something they can not current compete with.

Juventus are now holding out for a £105 million transfer fee for Pogba, something that would make the 23-year old the highest paid player in the world.

And if Pogba’s all-white message is really a nod and a wink to Florentino Pérez, rather than a call for peace and love, then maybe Manchester United are swimming against the tide anyway.

United play Borussia Dortmund in their first game of the tour in Shanghai on Friday afternoon.

‘Furthermore Raiola has already agreed a fee with United for bringing back the 23-year-old to the club he left in 2012 and the player is ready to accept United’s contract offer of £250,000 a week for five years.

Due to the blurry nature of the picture, it’s impossible to make out exactly whose that name is, but many users claim it is Pogba’s. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Old Lady are “keen on” Nemanja Matic, who had a rough go of it last season and has since seen Chelsea sign N’Golo Kanté for his position.

Palmeri noted that Juventus will get €120 million while Pogba will personally receive “20% of the selling fee” with his agent, Mino Raiola, taking €25 million in “personal commission”. It all comes down to Pogba, with Juventus obviously preferring to keep their star, knowing that they don’t need the money or have to sell, but that if Pogba wants to move on that they can put that money to good use and will be just fine.

United had the offer turned down on Tuesday, but have been told by the Italian champions that a world-record transfer fee in excess of £100m for the France midfielder would be accepted.

We can probably expect a few more weird interactions before the United team leave China and return home.
