The former “Beverly Hills 90210” actress – who was diagnosed with breast cancer last March – documented cutting off her long locks on Instagram on Tuesday (07.16.16) evening, with her mother Rosa and friend Anne Kortright-Shilstat by her side for support.

Sharing a step in her battle with breast cancer, Shannen Doherty posted photos to Instagram on Tuesday as she went through the emotional process of shaving her head.
In the photos, she shows the process she is going through and her new, very short hair style.
“I’m 44 and my husband and I wanted children”, she admitted, adding they they would look at adopting instead.
She elaborated on that treatment during a February 2016 episode of Dr. Oz, saying that she planned to have one of two surgery options, including a mastectomy if that’s what her doctors ordered.
Doherty was married to Ashley Hamilton from 1993-94, then to Pamela Anderson’s ex husband Rick Solomon from 2002-2003.
Shannen has been married to photographer Kurt Iswarienko since 2011.
Doherty is now having treatment to try and reduce the tumour but has not yet had it removed.
After she posted the photos, hundreds of well-wishes and positive messages flooded in for the 90210 actress.
“Ultimately, they’re just breasts right?” she said.
Under the photos, fans from around the world posted words of support.
Meanwhille, Anne praised her friend’s “strength and courage” as she thanked the 45-year-old star for “trusting” her with the clippers.

Doherty is still working and has been signed on to reprise her Mallrats character Rene in a new TV show called MallBrats.
