Nioh beta demo begins August 23

Following the success of the Nioh alpha demo released for PlayStation 4 a few months back, a second (this time it’s a beta) trial will go live on PSN from August 23 and will be available to download for two weeks, publisher Koei Tecmo has announced.

The Nioh Beta demo will have a number of new features and items that weren’t present in the alpha.

The beta follows on from the successful testing of the Alpha Demo of Nioh during which 850,000 gamers from around the world provided valuable feedback to the development team via an online survey. Players will also be able to explore a yet-to-be-announced stage.

Chin Soon Sun, community Manager for Koei Tecmo Europe, also revealed on the PlayStation Blog that there would be some new katana, hammers and axes available to cater to one’s play style (and also teased players being able to acquire some new weapons). The new demo will hit PS4 on August 23, and will be playable through September 6.

Training, new stage, and more added.

The game’s main character is William Adams, and he travels to Japan to become a samurai. Our samurai friend will be aided by Hanzo Hattori, a ninja who’s head of his clan, will act as our guide through the game. Ginchiyo Tachibana (wife of Muneshige, the head of the Tachibana clan) will also help William on his quest with her skilled fighting abilities.
